Richard ‘Dick’ Seaman was Britain’s highest-flying racing driver of the thirties, his performances in MG, ERA and the 10 years out-of-date Delage were extraordinary for one with so little experience that persuaded Alfred Neubauer , the famed racing team manager of Mercedes-Benz to join the team – it’s sole British member. There were to be difficult times ahead however, for an Englishman in a German Team with direct financial support from the German Governement of the era in the run-up years to WW2. Nevertheless he won the 1938 German GP in magnificent style in front of all the top Brass and was set fair for a glittering career. He married Erica, daughter of the BMW Boss and drove for the BMW squad in sports car racing. Then just as war clouds were gathering, Seaman was killed driving at Spa in 1939 at the age of 26. The book is large landscape format of 200 pages with many wonderful period photos. The book has been signed by the author Chris Dixon to the title page with a dedicated signature to Gunther Molter who is a German motorsport journalist. It is in excellent condition with minor creasing to dust jacket. Reference: BO-SHTSTARSIG-01
